Please be advised of the necessary temporary closure of King Street at the South connection to County Road 43 starting Thursday November 28th at 10:00AM. This closure is required in order to facilitate the installation of the new Watermain in this area. This portion of the road will be closed until the end of day on Friday November 29th and will be reopened and reinstated for the weekend. *See below image for reference.

Please be advised of the closure of the south portion of Anniversary Way at the County Road 43 for the installation of steel casings. This closure will be in effect as of Monday, December 2nd until Friday, December 13th, 2024. Access to the plaza will not be interrupted during this closure. *See below image for reference.


County Road 43 Expansion Newsletter – Fall 2024


Occasional short periods of traffic slow downs and/or lane closures are to be expected to allow for large trucks to deliver materials to the Kemptville Creek Bridge. These closures will be between Kemptville Retirement Living and the Creek Side Plaza and are expected to continue intermittently until summer 2025 (date is subject to change based on bridge construction progress).

Temporary Alignment: Please be advised that the Contractor will be temporarily changing the alignment and traffic configuration of County Road 43 starting on the morning of Friday November 8th. The Westbound traffic West of the Kemptville Creek Bridge will be redirected onto the new County Road 43 alignment up to the Community Square (Shoppers Drug Mart entrance). Westbound traffic will NOT have access to any entrances on the South side of County Road 43 on this day other than those accessible from Anniversary Way. Eastbound traffic will remain on the current County Road 43 configuration. Eastbound traffic will NOT have access to any entrances on the North side of County Road 43 on this day other than those accessible from Anniversary Way. The Contractor will be reconstructing and maintaining existing entrances to those affected starting on the night of Friday November 8th. The public can expect the reinstatement of entrances throughout the following work week. All Eastbound and Westbound traffic on County Road 43 is expected to be placed on the new road alignment by Monday November 11th and have access to most entrances to the South.

Bridge Closure: Please be advised of the closing of County Road 43 between County Road 19 and County Road 44 starting on Friday, November 8th and Saturday, November 9th from 9:30PM to 6:30AM. This is to install concrete girders for the new bridge. County Road 43 will be completely closed to the general public that wish to traverse across the Kemptville Creek Bridge. A signed detour route will be in place (see below). If the Contractor does not complete the entire operation over the Saturday night closure, the same closure will take place on Sunday night (Nov 10th) using the same time restrictions and signed detour route. Local and non-weight restricted vehicles may continue to use County Road 43 however will not be able to cross the Kemptville Creek Bridge.

Traffic Disturbance: Please be advised of the closing of Anniversary Way from County Road 43 from Monday, October 28th until end of day Wednesday, October 30th. Signed detours will be in place to direct traffic on an alternate route. For more details on the detour route, see the attachment below:

Traffic Disturbance: Please be advised of traffic lane closures at the intersection of County Road 43 and 44 for the week of August 19th to 29th for sewer installation. Duty officers will be on scene to assist in directing traffic during from August 26th to 29th when lane restrictions are necessary.

Traffic Disturbance: Please be advised of potential delays in traffic at the intersection of County Roads 43 and 44 due to the activation of temporary signals happening tomorrow, Thursday, August 1st. OPP will be on site to direct traffic during the signal activation.

Traffic Disturbance: Short duration lane closures are to be expected at the County Road 43 and 44 intersection for the activation of temporary traffic signals. These closures will be effective until July 26th, 2024. OPP Duty Officers will be on scene to assist in directing traffic.

Traffic Disturbance: Please be advised of Lane Closures on County Road 43 between the Shoppers Drug Mart entrance and County Road 44 on July 10th, 11th and 12th to install piping. Closures will begin in the westbound lane and move to the east bound lane over three days. The contractor will maintain a one lane closure between 7:00AM and 5:00PM and will open up both lanes at the end of each workday.

Project Progress Update: The next big step in construction will be commencing on July 2nd as RW Tomlinson will start bridge construction. Commuters may see the contractor preparing the area in the first few weeks of July before bridge work begins.

Traffic Closure: Expect Single Lane Closure of County Road 43 Eastbound Lane between Creekside Plaza and Kemptville Retirement Living with the use of Flag Persons on Wednesday June 26th and Thursday June 27th. Short duration closures will take place sporadically throughout the day.

Notice of Construction to Commence. On behalf of the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville and the Municipality of North Grenville, Egis (formerly McIntosh Perry) would like to advise all stakeholders, emergency service providers, and constituents that R.W.
