FAQs

Q1. Who will be doing most of the work?
A1. The contract was awarded to RW Tomlinson Ltd. for the completion of all construction works, with the Contract Administration being completed by Egis Canada (Formerly McIntosh Perry Consulting Engineers).

Q2. What is the purpose of this project?
A2.This project aims to upgrade County Road 43 from a 2-lane rural roadway with ditches to a 4-lane urban roadway with curbs and storm sewers. The widening of the roadway will improve the traffic flows, enable major commercial activity and provide a safer road for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists. Expanding the roadway will support local and regional growth planning strategies for the town of Kemptville.
Removing and replacing the existing 2-lane bridge on County Road 43 over the Kemptville Creek with a new 4-lane bridge extending to the south will ensure that its service life and design standards match the improvements of County Road 43.

Q3. What are the timelines for the project?
A3. Construction to start in March 2024 and should be completed in late fall of 2026.

Q4. What are the expected traffic impacts?
A4. 2-way traffic will be maintained with short periods of time where traffic is reduced to 1 Lane. All accesses will remain open during construction operations.
